Eh, I don't see how this is difficult. You simply enter the URL into the text area, and submit. If you really can't sort it, email me the link and I'll add it.

I'd much rather have the link rather than reprinting their copyrighted material.

Count me in, I've always wanted to go to Tiree.

Has an exact date been sorted out yet, I suspect we may have to book the ferry well in advance and it would probably be best for one person to book it all at the same time to make sure we all get there.

How about a pub evening next week to chat about it, check tide, ferries, camp site etc.

Hmmm let me see, can I spare the time - hell yes. Count me in although I will have to consult to be sure. I don't mind taking a couple of days to do the journey each way. Maybe find a kiteable spot along the way. If I take my van then I can carry people's kit - for a contribution. The best thing is that going that far north we'll be kiting till late.

Tim I could be up for sharing and I guess you were thinking of your van?

600 miles each way (to Oban for ferry) = 1200 miles
100 miles per 15 litres
12 * 15 = 180 litres
180 litres * £1.11 = £199.80
Return ferry fare for my van = £84
Return ferry fare for me = £16.40
TOTAL MIN COST (for me on my own) = £320.20

Added costs of extra fuel for excursions and van fare may be more.
Still cheaper than France but I'd like to share :D

How about a pub evening anyway? Preferably somewhere central, with good food...

okay, made a couple enquiries, here's my costings:

for 2 people sharing a van less than 5m long:

Miles to oban: 565 x 2 = 1130
plus 70 miles on island = 1200

@ 45 mpg?? = 120 litres = £140

Fuel = £70 each

Ferry
£84 return plus 16.40 each person (bastards) = £116.80, ferry CAN be fully booked especially if there is an event on but not always - still better to book in advance at some stage

Ferry = £58.40 each

Camping at wild diamond, spoke to the owner essentially there's space for hundreds BUT only one toilet and shower so he limits camping to 25 people per day. He said he's offer a group rate of £6 per person per night. Booking in advance is essential - by end of April at least. They do kitesurf lessons aswell as loads of others and it is BUSY so again if partners etc want lessons book in early.

What about wild camping?

Anyway Accomadation for one week (7 nights) = £42

Food & booze..say £100

Total cost £270

I've probably missed something but its a starter

Ooo I can feel the excitment building. Bet it rains :lol:

I know you said August but May or June looks to be better conditions for maximum sun, least rain and good wind. Mind you the data is quite old.

Problem for me is kids etc - I have a 'no kid' window in august, plus it'll be warmer and the wind can come & go at any time. Looking up the wind stats on windguru for august I got over 90% above force 3 and 75% above foce 4 and it is Tiree specific (wind offshore essentially rather than coastal inshore) but looking at the wind stats on that link - quite impressive - avg for august is 20 knots and average for september (if we go end of) its 28 knots!!!
